Duracell Inc. is an American company located in Bethel, Connecticut, United States. Owned by Berkshire Hathaway, the company is a producer of alkaline batteries, specialty cells, rechargeable, and smart power solutions. The creation of the P. R. Mallory Company and the work of Samuel Ruben and Philip Mallory gave rise to the business in the 1920s.

Duracell was acquired by the consumer goods behemoth Procter & Gamble through a succession of business mergers and acquisitions (P&G). P&G and Berkshire Hathaway came to an agreement in November 2014 to transfer shares in exchange for the sale of the business.  In accordance with the agreement, Berkshire Hathaway acquired the Duracell company in exchange for the shares of P&G it already owned.
